This is really about being transparent when you collect customer
data, asking for their permission to use it, telling them what it will
be used for and making it easy for them to retract that permission.
Most CCTV systems will have a lawful basis for processing data so a
written OPT-IN is not required but it is essential to make sure data
subjects are aware that they are being recorded so they have the
choice to request a copy of footage and if they choose get it deleted.
TAKE ACTION: Make sure your CCTV Warning Signs
are a suitable size, mounted in an appropriate place
and easily visible for example if you passing through
a gateway in a car.
